As mayor, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Town of Prentiss. Located in the heart of south-central Mississippi along the El Camino Corridor, we are within easy driving distance to the state capitol in Jackson, the Mississippi River at Natchez and Vicksburg, the beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans.

Prentiss has many unique diversions to offer anyone. Whether your interests range from enjoying fishing at Jeff Davis Lake, an Urban Tree Walk featuring some of our ancestral homes or playing a few holes of golf at Prentiss Country Club, you will find a gem nestled among small town atmosphere and hospitality.

One of our top attractions for outdoor enthusiasts is the Longleaf Trace, a 41-mile biking and hiking corridor between Prentiss and Hattiesburg. One of the longest rail-trails in the United States, the Trace is building a reputation among both serious and casual bikers.
